Iku Nagae

Hello everyone! It's me again.
I left here because I got busy with some things and then I forgot about AGD ;;;
I am not back and have been looking through AGD for the last week or so. There doesn't seem to be much posting, in some parts of the forums... Hopefully we can kick them back up.
It's good to be back~

Serika

Welcome back, Iku.

Yeah, forum is slow as always. Doesn't mean there's nothing to do however. Starting a topic in general dis will always get at least a few people talking about whatever it is you post. A lot of the off-topic boards are ghost towns, but there's still activity in FD, links, and random fetish. :)
On the internet you're only as smrt as your spell checker.

FallenStar

If you're not back, how are you looking through the forums? NOTHING MAKES ANY SENSE!  :death:

No, but if you *are* truly back, that's good. We've had a couple of people say "I'm back!" and then disappear on us... so hopefully, you'll understand when I say I'm a bit skeptical of people actually being back. =P

Welp... I'm fucked...

packrat

Wow, it's been a while since I've seen that face around.  Welcome back to the forums.  How ya been?

Iku Nagae

I am very well. just had some time with my family for Christmas... explains the period between Dec 20 and now xD
In other news, I graduated college last year with a degree in Geography, moved to Milwaukee, WI, have a crappy job at another fast food place (third one Wendy's, Burger King, and now Rocky Rococos [hope someone knows where the name is from, please]), and I'm looking to hopefully get a career job soon and go to graduate college.

Tru

What do you hope to do with a degree in Geography?
This is an experiment of sorts. I don't really expect most people to care about my music listening habits.

Well I hope to become a Meteorologist, but I most likely need a Master from a Graduate College in Meteorology, but as for right now I can do data entry and manipulation in ArcGIS (a computer software), Water Management, Waste Management. I also have a minor in Chemistry so anything in that is good as well. Just need something so I can pay for Graduate College.

FallenStar

Meteorologist, huh? If Kori were still coming to this site, you and he could have a lot of fun discussing weather patterns and the like.

awww man  :crying: That would have been cool xD

Tru

Cool. I didn't know geography was on the path to meteorology! Well, my advice for you if you're interested (as someone who has struggled to find decent work from time to time) is to use your spare time to become an expert on whatever software is most used in your industry. There are always domain experts who have the education but lack the skills to use their tools expertly, and the idea of having someone who is fluent with the tools is appealing to them. Try to be more than just good at ArcGIS, be the expert who knows it inside and out! Most of my valuable skills are things I learned in my spare time.

Ah yes true. I have some experience in ArcGIS, I should learn it through and through, but it's expensive to get the full version of it... although there is one alternative... Arrrgh~ and Avast ye matties~
I know of a few other programs that I should learn as well. (one is a radar application called GrLevel3... love it.)

Yeah, he's really taught me a lot about cold fronts, tornadoes, and hurricanes. If I see him again, I'll be sure to try to point him in your direction.

I hate to say it, but I would never have become an expert at Photoshop or gotten my first "real" job if I hadn't pirated Photoshop in high school... Take that for what it's worth.

Too bad I can't give you more business, eh, Tru?

Tru

Haha. I'm like Bruce Wayne from The Dark Knight Rises. "I'm not Batman a graphic artist any more." Maybe someday I'll even forget what Papyrus is (not likely).
