Why am I not authorized to view the image gallery? I have already made more than 10 posts.

Seriously, read the rules on the homepage, wouldja? You people are starting to get on my nerves with your lack of reading skills.   *rant

3digimon, the 10 post rul has been abolished. Now, you have to wait for an invitation to become an advanced member. Only then can you see the image gallery. I've made 118 posts and still haven't gotten there, but I'm still going. Just hang in there. :)

Well, now I know this is going to take a really LONG while...

Not necessarily. Here's the thing - you need to be active, you need to contribute good posts, and the mods need to actually notice that you need to be promoted. It took me about 70 posts and 2 weeks before the mods noticed me, but I didn't even bother to ask the mods about it at all. From what I've seen, some people have been promoted after just a few good posts, and for some people it can take over 100, it all depends on the quality of your posts and whether or not mods notice you.

If you believe you're an active member of the community, I'd recommend actually PMing one of the mods about it so they can review your eligibility.

As the rules clearly state, it's a matter of quality over quantity.

I'll put it to you another way;  would you rather have 100 shitty hamburgers or 40 big thickburgers with lots of fixin's?

Yeah, that's what I thought.  =P
Welp... I'm fucked...

For some reason I'm reminded of Billy Mays' Big City Sliders o.o

So, I know you guys hate questions about the rules and all, and I'm probably hurting my chances here, but...  I have pictures to contribute to the gallery, but I can't view it any more.  Do the pics I've contributed to the gallery in the past not count?  I was always more active uploading pictures than I was on the forum, just because it's hard for me to get more than a half hour at a time or so where nobody could look over my shoulder (weird basement setup).

I guess I'm just kind of disappointed.  I know I wasn't particularly active on the forum, but I sorta figured they'd grandfather people who contributed to the gallery in...

God, I swear you people absolutely REFUSE to look at the announcements topics.   :S

I have disabled the image gallery temporarily in preparation for an forum upgrade. NO ONE CAN ACCESS IT UNTIL THE UPGRADE IS COMPLETE!  *rant

Calm down, champ.  It's in like 6 point font.

What are you talking about, 6 point font? I made a topic on the Announcements board that is the same size font as the font I am using here with you now. According to normal SMF font, that should be 10.

And try not to be condescending, will you? If you members actually checked the announcements instead of complaining about things that I've clearly explained, you wouldn't need to have posted a complaint in the first place.  Honestly. Is reading a lost art or something?   :S

It may be his screen resolution.  What may been 10 point to you may look like 6 point to him because of how his comp is set up.

As for reading being a lost art, it probably is at this point.  Especially with a visual fetish like ours.

In all fairness, the rule about image gallery access really should be in BIG RED LETTERS on the front page. It's easy to miss right now.

FallenStar

Only if people activate some setting that doesn't indicate new posts in the Announcements section. (I don't know if such a thing exists, myself).

Seriously, though... everyone should make an effort to look at the Announcements board every time they scroll past to the other sections. It'd be the best way to find out if things have changed or not. Otherwise, the board is useless.   :S

Alright, sorry.  I didn't mean to be condescending.  Although in all fairness, I didn't insult your ability to read.  I'm fairly literate, okay?  I'm just a busy guy.  Haven't read every jot and tittle of this thing.

But mea culpa.  I shouldn't have complained before reading the announcements.  It's my fault, and I apologize.  I just hate to see you get so worked up over something so tiny.
