Some basic information on the Hurt & Heal topics

In the past there have been some questions regarding the various Hurt & Heal competitions on these boards. Because of this and because some people seem reluctant to join in I've decided to create this topic. If I forget something or make a mistake please correct me Fallenstar, Serika

The basic rules of the competition are very simple. Every turn you have to make one girl more and one girl less desperate. Every time you make a girl more desperate her score goes down. When her score reaches 0 she wets herself.
When a girl's score is 10 or less she loses 1 point every time you "hurt" her. Between 11 and 20 she loses 2 points and from 21 and up 3 points.

Every time you heal a girl she gains 1 point no matter her score.

The competitions are a bit like light versions of an RP. You have to write short story of how the girl becomes more/ less desperate. The stories can be as short or as long as you see fit. 2 of the previous competitions are stored in "archives" (in the download section of the site) so you can get some inspiration there  :icon_wink:
None of us here are professional writes (as far as I know at least) so you really don't have to worry about writing skills.

Unlike with an RP nobody has a set character. You can use any character you want even if someone else has been using it frequently. You also don't have to worry about turn order or anything. The can post as frequently as you want (the more the better in fact ). The only restriction is that you can't post 2 times in a row.

I think that about covers it.

Here are some small tips:
When making a girl desperate who still has lots of points remember it will still take several turns before she will wet herself. Having a girl squirm in desperation might be overdoing it a bit when she still has 9 points or more left. That would make it also difficult to increase her desperation further. Part of the fun is to slowly increase the agony  ;D

Try to stay in character (a bit at least). Since this isn't professional writing or anything you're very free what to do whatever you want with the characters. Just keep in mind that since we're using characters from videogames and anime series they already come with an existing personality. For example: shy characters like Shinobu from Love Hina are not very likely to scream "I NEED TO PISS!!!" out load.

When writing something down you can include characters that aren't in the contest themselves.

There have been 2 finished "main" hurt & heal competitions in the past. There is a thin "main storyline" but you really don't have to worry about that. Again this isn't professional writing so nobody cares if something doesn't quite add up with one of the precious competitions (besides not that many characters from the precious contests are present).

There aren't many ways aside from going to the bathroom to physically relieve pressure on your bladder. Therefore when healing a girl you can use any random activity that will keep a girl's mind off her bladder. You don't have to think too hard on it.

Well, that's a bout all I can think of right now. I know it's all pretty obvious but I hope someone will find it useful. Just join in, it's really a lot of fun

Actually, I think basic writing skills ARE important for these hurt N' Heals.  You don't have to be perfect (hey, anyone can make a typo), but you have to, at least, be legible...

Please do not post if you can't even keep your tenses straight.

And if anyone, and I mean ANYONE, makes a "there", "their", "they're" mistake ON purpose, you will have completely lost the respect of the admin.   :p

*pokes at the list of characters in the third contest*

So, uh, like how important is to know the characters involved in the contest? I only recognize a handful of 'em and outside of Yuffie rember next to nothing about them  :sweatdrop:

If you own a PS3, download the demo. Give this game a shot. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

Ok, you're absolutely right about that. If you do have some basic writing skill however I don't think there's anything to worry about.

I think it's important to have at least some basic sense of personality of the character. It really shouldn't be too hard to find some information on the internet. It also helps to see the character in action at least once (most of these series can be found on Youtube anyway).

Poowrite

Ahhh, well, thirty characters is a lot of research even if I'm not doing much of it. I think I'll stick to characters I know for now and decide who to learn about after they've been eliminated :).

Duce

also I've made a Hurt N' Heal game in flash,

it'll be a bit different than the Hurt N' Heal's on the forums,

though so far (if I counted right) theres only 5 characters nominated,

I hope it can get enough characters to get started soon.

Videl1201

Ah yes, I was wondering about that. It sounds very interesting but how does it work?

If all you're waiting for are nominations, I can go make a few more.

thorkity

this is important information, this should really be stickied.

Also, where can i find copies of the past hurt and heals or the flash?

FallenStar

In order to access the past Hurt N' Heals, you'd need to have access to the downloads section... and for that, you'd need 10 posts.  It's a rule that you require 10 posts before you have access because a lot of people sign up and never post...  Leechers to me are some of the worst forms of people... (Trolls and Flamers being on that same level)  xD

And that's another thing you really should work on. not only is stuff like this hidden or not even availiable, The small amount availiable is not stickied.

You guys (mods and Admins) really should work on that :P

This topic has been stickied.

As for the 10 post requirement, no, I will not change that.   As I pointed out before, the tendency for people to leech is very high, considering the basis of this forum, thus, if they have no intention to contribute, they shall not get the rewards.

Sorry if this upsets anyone, but it's my final ruling.   :hammer:

Hey, the Flash Hurt and Heal is down... Anyone care to fix that?

Apparently, that's because it links to the old domain name.    :death:

I'll have Duce transfer it to the new domain when I see him.

Thanks I have always wondered how those things worked

Sounds interesting... Can we suggest extra characters? I've been curious about whether Henrietta's (Gunslinger Girl) bladder had been enchanced just like the rest of her body...
Always happy to get PMs/IMs
