Massive Computer Problems

I don't know what it is about my computers (both the new one with Vista and 6 GB RAM, among a lot of other great hardware and whatnot) or the old one (XP and 480 MB RAM), but apparently, neither of these computers is capable of working properly on me.

The same issue keeps happening; random shutdowns that leave the monitor saying "No signal" and the only way to get things back up and running is to reboot. Half the time, though, the computers won't reboot right away and half the time, they just randomly crash/freeze for no apparent reason.

I've tried to do everything I can about overheating or loose wires and nothing has worked. I don't know how much longer I'll be able to keep using this computers and I sure as hell have no money to get another new one - I just got through spending 2000 dollars for my *new* computer that's apparently a piece of junk.

So... if this site should ever go down, know that it's not because of a lack of will; it's because of a lack of computer on my part.  -_-;

Welp... I'm fucked...

have you dusted the inside of the things, and left them well ventallaed? sounds like videocards/motherboards overheating problems.

either that or you've been cheating on us with other virus filled porn sites.

Were it not for how chilly it's been today inside my trailer with the AC on and the fact that the exact same thing happened to two separate computers with differences ranging in the "HOLY SHIT HOW ARE THOSE TWO ANYTHING ALIKE", I might be tempted to believe you... but I don't... Not really. Not when a vibration can easily wipe out one computer and the other work just fine.

vibration turns them off? Are the power supplies loose/dying or something? is your surge protector/wall outlet supplying enough electricity to power your monitor?( my only other theory is that your video cards are wrecked)

FallenStar

Vibration did cause one of them to give me a sorta "black screen of death" - where the monitor blanks out and says "No signal" and wherein the only way to fix things is to reboot/reset - but vibration has no effect on the other one, which, until today, I thought was working properly, if not a bit slow (480 MB RAM VS 6 GB is quite a change :P ).

I do think the video card *might* be loose in the other case, but I'll have to wait and see what the computer man says. Hopefully by Tuesday night, I'll know.

EDIT: Also, the computer man also theorized about the surge protector/wall outlet dipping in power (losing some voltage) and has said he'd bring out a battery backup thingie (worth 60 dollars) to assist if that is the case.

the backup thingy is an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) basically it works like a real short time battery/surge protector(optionally) for the computer. Most don't last very long, just enough to let you shut down/save what you are doing and turn off the computer. would help for when your power supply craps out for a second or two, or dips below the voltage needed

FallenStar

Which may exactly be the problem as the computers reboot with no problem only a moment or two after they fail.
