I'm more of a visual guy, but good fanfics never fail to excite me. You captured the moments of desperation very well, I was able to imagine it and it was very pleasing, so to speak ;) Of course, I'm no expert in literature, I always just BS'd my way through all my English projects. I'm sure it helps to know that your average reader finds your story entertaining, though
