Ok. This is annoying. I'm done.

Ok. Since it seems I can't make a post without it getting deleted, I'm done with this site. It gets annoying every time I come back to the forum. That "warning" appears.  Sorry guys. I really like the theme and all but I can't deal with the "Oh sorry, It fell under spam." If you can read the post and see that it's not spam and on topic, then it's not spam. I don't think it's right. So that's why I'm leaving. I'm sure there are other sites about this stuff where the admins are not so strict about posts. Well, there you have it.

Goodbye.... :death:

Maybe the staff are a bit too rough with the definitions of spam, but I've never had a problem with deleted posts. Just a little bit of effort is necessary.

The_Enigma

I agree.  If you only make the effort to keep only 10 posts, then you don't deserve to be here.  I good member should be able to accumulate posts without a problem, even if a couple get deleted.

I think that most of the good sites keep a tight lockdown on spam.  Evil Empire for instance.  They have a really nice site with a good selection of animes and mangas but I personally find them to be far too harsh with their rules. (They also move topics into non post counting archives or something and that negatively affects post count also...)

I'd say this site's rules are mild in comparison to most other good sites you'll find and tbh I haven't found any other sites truly like this one :)

Though I think if you want to leave that's fine, though there's no need to announce it when you're going to do so in such bad taste.

bye bye, hope you find that fabled "better site" someday

Oh, go cry me a river somewhere else.

I wasn't back then, but I am now.

Got me a lil' ol' trailer and internet now, so hopefully, I'll be back online for now until a year is up - depending on how long I choose to stay here or until a hurricane wipes the trailer out...  xD

samri

I agree.  I made 10 solid posts, wake up the next morning, and bom, I'm down to 6 again.  WTF?  I'm not spamming.  Just answering the post truthfully with experienced intel.

The_Enigma

Do you make any effort to get OVER 10, though?  Perhaps if you were at 20 or so, you wouldn't have to worry if 4 of your posts got deleted.

I dont wanna be a complainer(I do that enough on other forums) but you guys are really getting carried away with what you call spam.

Having our members contribute new stuff to a discussion is good, but you cant expect every post to be a 2+ sentance well thought out discussion. While I understand the need to take out spam of people just posting to see the gallery,Ive seen stuff that a normal member could post that would get a spammer's post deleted.  I don't really have a solution as i have no idea what forum system this is and what possiblities could be done.

That, and I tend to complain a lot about things (no one else seems to really mind the chatroom is gone, which in my opinion seems odd for a place centered on it's community) So this rant should propably not be taken seriously, especially since im not here often enough to know 100% whats going on.

Edit: one thing i really have to point out though, is the random fetish section really contradicts the whole discussion thing. Most arent aobut discussing but more of " do you like this fetish?" and litterally asking to have it awnsered with just a yes or no in some topic titles. The whole section just reeks of "im posting here to get to the porn sooner."

( I need to post here more often, I just wish I knew what to post about)

Why not? Surely a forum should be a place where people have conversations worth reading...if someone has serious problems posting even 10 high quality posts, that person is not likely to be a contributing member of the board.
This is an experiment of sorts. I don't really expect most people to care about my music listening habits.

if the first 10 posts I made were being deleted constantly, I propably wouldnt bother posting any more. mass deleting people's stuff right when they start joining accusing them of spam might turn a lot of new members off from the place who may be posting legitamtely. I have and still work as an administrator on multiple forums, and I can tell you most posts on the forums are under 2 sentances and still contribute to a discussion, even if its a repeat of whats said before (because hey, some things do get missed). What one person considers "worth reading" or a "contribution" and what another person does is completely different.
Personally there should only be really only two typoes of post quality: spam and not spam. When you start judging posts by thier length and whether or not someone may have said the same thing before it goes a bit overboard.

Really, if so many people are registering just to spam 10 posts to get to the image gallery that this is a serious issue that requires strict moderation, then maybe you should consider an alternative method of gaining access to it.

I'm working on alternative methods even as you speak. It's just that, for the time being, this is the only way to attempt to control spammers and leechers.

Of course, if you want to contribute some money for a vBulletin license, this could all be done much quicker.  <.<  >.>

oramisho

I actually would, but i lost my job a month ago, and barely have enough cash as it is until i find another. You could try something other then vbuliten though, there are a few other systems that let you use image galleries and such.

FallenStar

It comes down to a matter of knowledge in the end, though; I am potentially more familiar with vBulletin as I've been a part of vB forums for years ever since the old Renchan and I'm positive that I could get the assistance I need from friends I speak to on IM.

A new system, however, would just screw me up worse and worse and makes things even harder for a computer illiterate like me to function.
