Umm... why does the entry page show a pornographic image from the gallery before confirming whether or not the viewer is 18? Seems self-defeating to me.
Maybe, but some people are damned stupid anyway and they'll click on anything. At least this way, they know what they're getting into. <_<
While I agree, and it's not really too much my concern since I'm not a site designer, isn't the purpose to withhold the porn until *after* we're sure it's legal to display it?
If people are stupid enough to click on something that says over 18s, they're going to see porn anyway. It really doesn't matter what I do.
This was a lesson I learned a long time ago with other forums (not that I ever had any other forums - these belonged to other people).
I think that the image on the entry page should show a fully-cloth girl wetting herself instead of a topless girl wetting herself... It suits the theme of this site better.
Actually, it doesn't matter if the girl is half naked or not. As long as she looks desperate and is wetting herself, that's the theme of this site.
I don't recall if you were here before, Neil, but that picture was used as the banner once before, before we switched to the little cutie that's up there now and few, if any, members complained. =P
I have to agree with FallenStar on this one. While I do think that the image he put up might be a bit much, it does let them know exactly what kind of site this is. It also lets them know what our content looks like, which helps them decide whether it would be a good idea to enter this site or not. After all, the image is obviously not for children, so no one under the age of 18 should click on it. If they do click on it and are surprised (or disgusted) by what they see, then they can't complain. After all, the image lets them know what kind of site this is.
Can I just ask (its al little off topic I know, but) is it mandatory to have your go elsewhere link redirect to Google? or does it just have to go 'somewhere' and the largest search engine ever is the obvious choice?
I think bound2burst's redirect link goes there too, and ineed2pee, so that why I'm asking. Other than that I think the pic is fine :D
It can link to any site that is worksafe. People link to Google these days, but they used to link to Yahoo years ago. I've even seen a few sites link to disney.com. :lol:
Pretty sure Duce just picked the first site that entered his mind. I didn't tell him where to redirect to, just as long as it was away from here. :lol:

Well the reason people create these pages is to protect them from law suits, but i doubt anyone would do anything like that here, but for legal reasons it would be self-defeating

There is nothing that is directly sexual about the image. The image only displays upper nudity which is generally acceptable in 16+ rated Anime and in R rated films. The fact that she is peeing also does not necessarily make it an X rated image. Elfen Lied has a scene, as do many other anime, where a character wets themselves for one reason or another.
Take The following titles:
End of Evangellian : There is a quick scene where Asuka's breasts are visible, there is also a scene which suggests the actions of sexual intercourse. This film is rated R (17+)
Elfen Lied: Rated 18+ but this rating is not because of the urination or the excessive amount of nudity within the anime. The 18+ rating is tacked on because part of the story deals with a character's experience with child rape.
Girls Bravo: Sexually suggestive and boobs galore - Rated 17+
Much of the second two titles have content that could easily be considered to be a lot worse than this site's Entry Page.
Scoose, that is perhaps the dumbest thing you've ever posted. All of your examples require what is considered adult ratings in the first place. Even your own first statement says "16+ rated Anime".
The point is, Anime isn't just for over 18s and those who are younger than 18 are forbidden by U.S. law to view topless nudity (in addition to full nudity).
Imagine, for a second, if you have some little 4Kids Yu-Gi-Oh lover stumble upon this site, see the front page picture, bawwwww to his mother, who calls the local government official, who demands that this site be taken down or made into a pay site. How would you like it then, mm?
ANY nudity is off-limits for an entry page and whilst it won't really matter with some people, it does work as a deterrent to a lot of people, meaning less chances for people to get offended.
Stupid people = Censored, unfortunately.

Yeah, that banner wasn't there when I first joined. I'm not complaining, but merely suggesting though. Anyway, time to enter the contest and win back my pride..
