OK, been a few weeks since my last update - but the good news is, I've been so quiet at my office that I've managed to spend almost the entire last 6 weeks working on "Desperate Liasons" - my wetting game mentioned earlier in this thread: http://www.animegirldesp.org/forum/index.php?topic=2858.0 (http://www.animegirldesp.org/forum/index.php?topic=2858.0)
Anyway, it's been very complicated to get to this stage, the game is far from complete but it is now finally letting me create characters, create games, join games and watch as the characters get steadily more desperate.
I can't perform any actions yet, nor is it working as a web app, but the basic structure of the game is finally there and working. Which is nice!
So, to test my game so far, I created 3 characters - Jessie, Ginger and Megan - and gave them each different parameters. Jessie has a bladder capacity of 14000, Ginger 8000, and Megan 10000. I then let the game proceed, allowing each "player" to end their turn. I was logged on as Jessie, which meant that I got updates for everything that directly affected Jessie's character - i.e. in the transcript you can see "Bladder level +499" at the start of Jessie's turn. If I was logged on as Megan or Ginger, I would see the same updates at the start of their turns instead.

I like the way the script sequentially builds the levels of desperation in each of the girls, some similar, some different. You've put a lot of thought into this and it should work well into a good desperation game. :clap:

There will be all sorts of options available in the finished version. Each turn, players will have a variety of ways to make other characters wet themselves.

I'm thinking of putting some very simple animations in - in fact hope to be working on that soon. I will need somebody to draw very simple images if I can't download them. The problem is that there will be so many actions in the finished game that I'd need tens of images of each character, and probably a variety of characters for people to choose from. It would probably be easier to get someone to design or modify some 3D polygon characters, then all we'll need are a variety of skins to choose from.
If I was clever enough I'd develop a "character builder" like Artificial Girl 3 but that's a bit beyond the scope of a single developer - it could take weeks just to write that.
TBH I might not worry too much about graphics in this - it should be fun just as a text-based multiplayer game. I might concentrate more on graphics for another project later on. There's loads of on-line flash games where you can play with a girl, and I'd love to write one based around desperation and wetting. This will require less graphics, I think!
Interesting stuff, BuS! I've already started work on something that will display thumbnails. I suppose the idea is that when a user logs on, they can select from a variety of thumbnails that will represent them in the game, just like a forum avatar.
However - ideally, there should be a large selection of avatars. These avatars might even change as the game progresses. It would be nice if the avatars were in some way customisable.
Here's an idea - a user creates a character, and then goes to the avatar creation screen. They can select from a variety of face shapes, skin shades, eyes, noses, mouths, hair styles and hair colours.
What this would mean is that you'd have to draw various different individual images, then scan them and give them a variety of colours. That way I can make them all available to users.
In order to graphically represent increasing desperation levels, you'd probably also have to re-draw the eyes and mouths in a variety of increasingly desperate expressions (pursed lips, open mouths, narrowed eyes, the manga-favourite one eye shut, reddening cheeks, tears etc). To represent a girl who has finally wet herself, you could draw an image of a pair of hands which could be displayed over the face.
This would be a simplistic but cute way of displaying the characters in-game.
Note that the game has been designed to allow users to configure their character as Boy, Girl, Cuntboy or Dickgirl, but I could easily lock it to Girl only to cut down on the amount of drawing required (I can't imagine many users here would want the other options anyway).
Although Flash is probably easier for this sort of thing, I don't know how to use it, so I'll be writing this module in C#. Once it's complete, the project will be compiled as an ActiveX object that can run on a Windows web server, and the front-end will be displayed via an ASP.Net webpage. I'm no expert on web security so I imagine early versions might get hacked :p
BuS, if you're definately interested in doing this much work for the project then I'll PM you with further details.

I'd prefer to think that not all of them cry when they wet themselves, especially since it's a hold-it game and they know they're most likely going to pee. The shy girls I guess could do with quiet tears, but the open ones could have a good laugh about it.
Needless to say, I'll keep a very close eye on this as far as progress goes. And Megan sounds like a cutie, I can picture her very well. :D

Interesting stuff, and I did consider this, just not sure how to implement it yet.
Firstly, there are 10 stages of desperation, from 0 to 9. There is a table holding "DesperationStrings" which is confgurable by the admin. Each record holds either an entire string, or the first part of a string, or the last part. Currently I've entered 3 entire strings for each stage 0 - 4, and from 5 onwards, 3 firstparts and 3 lastparts. When the characters are listed, the program returns a random string for that level - so for desperation levels 5-9 there are 9 different possible texts.
The same applies for the actual wetting and the running away - these are random. More options could be entered for desperation and wetting strings but at the moment I couldn't restrict crying just to shy characters.
Shyness / Openness is configurable per character but is on a sliding scale. (You can see in the text that Megan is quite shy, because she doesn't show her desperation until quite late - i.e. her desperation levels are slow to increase even tho she reaches D9 and then wets herself before Jessie, who is quite open and shows her desperation earlier)
I deliberately didn't put anything about leg-crossing or bouncing because these are going to be user-actions. e.g. if your character is approaching D10 (wetting) and you don't want to lose the game, you can perform "Bounce" or "Cross Legs" - this may increase your character's bladder capacity and give your girl time to out-last her peers. As your character levels up, so these actions become stronger. Naturally, if a character is holding herself or crossing her legs, this will be displayed in the game text. For example, it might say "Megan's bum is wiggling quickly, she is sitting with her legs crossed and her face is sweaty. Her hands are between her legs and she is bouncing up and down." This would mean that Megan is performing Cross Legs, Bounce and Hold Crotch.
One reason I don't want to vary the descriptions too much is because every player should be able to estimate their opponents' desperation levels depending on the descriptions and their actions. This gives all players a chance to know how long they've got to make their girls hold it in order to win. In the game above, Jessie appears to be in trouble before Megan, but because Megan is shy, this is misleading - it's all part of the strategy (and was a great idea suggested by someone in the other thread). Because Jessie gets desperate earlier, even tho she has a bigger bladder, she can access certain moves like Cross Legs before Megan can, so she can start levelling up while Megan is still pretending she's not desperate.
Regards to "knowing thei're going to pee" - it really depends on the premise of each game. Users will have the option of creating their own games with their own text background. The text for Jessie's Sleepover was:

In this instance, it's a fairly clear-cut holding contest - but it needn't necessarily be so. The game could be "College bus trip" or "Abducted by an evil old lady" or whatever - in fact I prefer that sort of non-consential thing to the regular hold-it contest.

All sounds good to me. I do remember reading that some of the moves like Hold Crotch were player-controlled, so that works just fine.
