Title: Steam?
Post by: luvwettinggirls on March 30, 2009, 07:25:10 PM
Does anyone else like when a girl pees or wets herself and there's steam coming from the puddle or her pants?

Actually I rather like it even in situations where it would be unrealistic for steam to appear. It's like a visual cue that implies the heat of the urine, and to me anything that adds sensory details to an image makes it more immersive and therefore hotter.

Well... Urine is body temperature, and that's just over a third of the boiling point of water. If the girl is standing on hot stones, perhaps, otherwise - it's just way too unrealistic. I mean, imagine how a bladder full of boiling pee would feel O.O

Well, think about the effect of exhaling on a cold winter day, and how that creates visible "steam" in the air. It doesn't take temperatures near the boiling point of water for the effect to happen, just very cold surrounding air. I...can't say that I've experimented with this effect by peeing outside on a cold day, but I imagine you could get the appearance of steam by doing so.

Ah, hmm... But that's quite the opposite effect, as far as I know, you breath out water vapour in any case, and it cools down into steam. Pee is already water, it can only cool to ice - not steam!

Very cold air can cause hot liquids to steam below their boiling point, but it probably wouldn't be enough steam to be visible. It's a little complicated and there's no need to go into the details, but basically all liquids are constantly evaporating, and the boiling point is just the temperature when it starts to happen fast. And to be precise, body temperature is one third of the way between freezing and boiling. Comparing temperatures with fractions like that can be tricky because we don't normally measure them in absolute terms.

*puts on physics hat* Sorry to burst everybody's bubble, but it's not steam. Steam is always above the boiling point of water, and it's always invisible. What you see are particles of water that used to be vapor and condensed again.

Sheesh, now I've got that out of my system. I voted no, because pee may be warm, but it's not omfg warm.

The word "steam" might be too extreme to express the heat released from pee. It is unrealistic since it is too hot. However, if it is vapour, then I would say yes to it to show the effect.

Seems odd, but, to be fair, there is a misconception that it, and other bodily functions, steam.
Where do you think the phrase "Steaming pile" (which would be the same temperature as urine, give or take) came from?

I do enjoy a bit of steam, but mostly only in situations we it would make at least a little sense. Like if she was outside on a really cold day. If your inside during the summer on the other hand, that just doesn't make any sense. I'd have to say I mainly like it in the sense that I also like big puddles, it makes other people aware of whats happening.

I say no.  I don't think the whole "steamy pee" thing is very believable.  on top of it all it looks like they peed out yellow bath water or something.....

I say leave the steam out...

I've never really liked the look of steam coming from the pee...I dunno, it just doesn't happen in real life, and although it's fantasy, I just don't like it for some reason.  But that certainly doesn't mean I won't fap to an image that DOES have it should I like it.

It's not even so much a matter of realism to me, it just makes it seem gross.

It's difficult to explain exactly why...

I think that the only time steam should be used in an image is if the environment that the girl is in happens to be cold.

It never really appealed to me, so I voted "No." Steam was never as big for me as stReam! XD I thought ist odd in some anime scenes when people would pee and steam would rise up but it doesn't bother me too much...

Unless there is a reason why the steam is visible (cold weather) or it is used to show the smell e.g. when the girl ate asparagus I don't like steam on wetting pictures.

But I suppose this is, as so many other quations, too, a matter of personal preference ;)

For me it depends on the style and if I think it fits or not.
It can work if it's a simple style like these: http://www.mars.dti.ne.jp/~kisaichi/mojisowa/oekaki/index.html

I like steam, if a girl wets herself when its cold or pees into snow. Otherwise it just seems to be unrealistic. Sometimes it is even a little bit disgusting to me. I don´t know why, maybe because i generally don´t like the smell of pee ^^

It seems a lot don't like steam because it makes the whole thing look fake...but I prefer steam because otherwise it just looks semi-cold and just another liquid...that ISN'T supposed to be there.

I'm definitely not a fan of steam in these sorts of images, it tends to look a little out-of-place and kills any suspension of disbelief I might have.

Too unrealistic, just like it doesn't.... capture the essence of a scene if there is steam should only appear if it's cold out so if a girl is standing in the snow writing her name, steam is okay. In my oppinion.
