For the moment this topic mainly directed at Fallenstar, Serika and Mydnyght. I was considering making it a PM, but I don't think there is any reason to keep this a private discussion.
With the RPs not getting much traction anymore I was wondering if it might be time to do a reboot of the Hurt & Heal topic. It used to be one of the most entertaining parts of the precursor of this site (in my opinion at least) and I've always considered it a shame that it died off a couple of years ago.
I think one of the problems has been the success of the first installments. The backstory (most significantly the romance between Suki and Celes) became pretty extensive and we used up the most popular game and anime characters. In the spirit of reboots that has come to plague the movie and game industries these recent years I thought it might be a good to follow suit and completely start over from scratch.
I don't think this will do much to resurrect the boards (especially since we might want to make participation limited like in the RPs), but it might provide some entertainment. I have some suggestions to get things rolling, but I first want to hear from you guys to see if you're interested.
If we did do a reboot of the Hurt 'n' Heal, I'd definitely want the Suki/Celes romance within the story. I felt that that was one of the good things about it... however, that being said, I wonder if that subplot should be kept between me and Mydnyght and to have you guys - Videl, Serika and maybe Lisk - hurt and heal the others based on Celes' plans or unintended consequences thereof.
Other than that, I have no objections to anything you might suggest and I do apologize for my role in some of the RPs not moving along. I find it hard to RP with people I don't really speak to that often and whose style I might not be able to become accustomed to in a short amount of time. :death:
That doesn't sound like a bad idea, Videl. If we reboot and keep the rules simple we could have as much fun as we did in the first contest.
To prevent another derailing, i could throw out bad posts (hurting without healing) as soon as they appear.
Sounds good to me. If you guys take care of Suki and Celes it doesn't really matter how much backstory you keep in there. The main point is that we can use the other characters without having to read up on dozens of pages of old Hurt & Heals.
Should we make it open for everyone, or keep it limited to the four of us plus Lisk if he wants to join?
I don't know about including others - mainly because I don't know if anyone else would want to participate - but I'd like to hear from Mydnyght before we actually start anything... I got the feeling he was annoyed that Suki would "win" the contest or at least tie with Celes... =/

Uh, isn't Suki and Celes winning the hold-it game the whole point?
Anyway, yeah, I'm all for it. It's time we brought back Miss Nihon and Ms. Chere back into the limelight here.
Also, in a prior hurt-and-heal that didn't get far off the ground, some of us had other private characters. Is it okay to have them too? I may have one or two in mind....

That was my idea but I never got the feeling you liked it... One time, I think you even suggested that Suki be the first girl out... and I wasn't really a fan of that - I much preferred the idea that Celes would seek to get a lot of girls to wet themselves to turn Suki on and end up, herself, peeing because something went awry with her plans, lol.

Well yeah, the other private characters didn't have hurt/heal scores in that one hurt-and-heal attempt, so what's the concern?
No concern now, I suppose. Just trying to make sure we're on the same page - it's hard for me to actually *be* on the same page with other people, lol.

No problem. First we should nominate which characters to use besides Suki and Celes. I suggest we keep a moderate roster to keep things easy. If we all nominate 3 additional characters we will end with a roster of 14 or 17 girls, depending on whether Lisk joins in or not.
To get the ball rolling I nominate:

Since sameo wants to join, I wonder if we ought to do two versions - a "classic" version for us old timers and a new one for newer members to be a part of;

Once Mydnyght posts the characters he wants I can make a new sticky thread and start the game.
I am expecting to throw out at least a few posts during the contest, but if you make a mistake i won't delete the post, which would force you to retype the whole thing. Instead, i think i'll just add a strike through to posts that don't follow the game rules. That way, you can grab your old text, fix it, and repost it while the game continues.
Hopefully we can keep this one running smoothly. :)

It can't be helped. Even i haven't seen all of these shows and i have a completed anime list a mile long.
You can find out what the girls look like on Gelbooru, and you'll probably get a feel for how they act when someone else uses them. :)
