A reply in the "Pantsu" topic gave me this idea.
This may be like the Pantsu topic, but it focuses on thongs and thongs alone.
It seems to me that a lot of people don't actually like thongs. In fact, I have yet to meet anybody who DOES.
So, let's have a vote, to find out once and for all, do people prefer thongs?
Personally, I like thongs alright, but I prefer panties.
Myself, I went with the third option.
I personally hate thongs with a passion.
However, I did not vote for "Granny panties", though I do like the cheerleader bloomers - those panty-like things cheerleaders wear under their skirts. :drool:
I'm mostly for the regular white cotton or striped pantsu, myself.

Well, you have caught me on that one. It really isn't because it's comfy, though you do get used to it somewhat after a while.
I suppose, subconsciously, it may be a desire to feel progressive and in the present. I don't wear them exclusively, though. Just really whatever appeals to me.
It's definitely not to feel sexually liberated, or anything like that.

I didn't in the slightest mean to imply that everyone who wears them is promiscuous. I just addressed the stereotype that generally speaking, you'll find more "active" women who wear them than abstinent girls.

You do realize that's the argument people made against corsets so many years ago? Really, it's more of a sign of the times than any indication of promiscuity or moral decay.
We live in the age of progress, and in this case, progress seems to mean normalizing thongs.
Believe it or not, corsets were considered the sign of a harlot. Prostitutes traditionally wore them, and as a result, it got a bad rep.
Women who chose to wear them were considered promiscuous, even if they weren't.
In their eyes, yes, corsets did contribute to that era's "sexed-up ness" as you put it.
Methinks the object of being "sexy" is to show enough to give the appearance of nudity without actually showing nudity. Thongs do not do this - they show as much nudity as is legally possible. That might be why so many people have problems with it.
That's cool, I guess. I just don't see why anybody would take issue with a piece of clothing.

Really? I always thought NOT wearing corsets was considered the sign of moral decay. Women wore them to match society's expectations, despite the fact they warped their spines and crushed their organs.
Too answer the question...I never understood the point of thongs. Why not just wear nothing? I prefer seeing girls in panties that cling in some places, but still covers up everything like a neat, aesthetically pleasing package. And panties are good for more intricate designs (frills, laces, ribbons)...I like that sort of thing...it can be classy.
My girlfriend wears thongs, and i've always liked regular panties better, but I think I'm warming to thongs, just as long as there's enough at the front, I don;t mind seeing cute asses. :lol:
