What does being mute have to do with needing to pee? 

The fact that she couldn't tell anyone she needed to go and couldn't ask for a bathroom? It's not so hard to figure out.

Why would she need to ask anyone to use the bathroom!? Couldn't she just go? And I bet she was trained to hold her bladder, as to not pollute the fish's breathing water with urine.

Fish don't urinate in the same way; it's quite possible that Ariel has never experienced a bladder urge in her life and as such, wouldn't know how to handle it or deal with it.  And as for why she might ask someone to use the restroom, let's say she starts to leave Eric while he's trying to show her something. Confused, he grabs her arm lightly so she doesn't hurt herself, then without being able to talk, she couldn't really tell him what's wrong.

And again, that's only if she knows what a bladder spasm is and can hold it beyond the first urge.

I'd have to say that Ariel is the one most likely to have an accident, based on being transformed into a human from a half-fish type creature.  She probably wouldn't know how to control a human bladder.

With Ariel it would not work that well cuse she just goes when she pleases in the water but if she were made to hold it then she would not be able to hold it long though :)
