Well, in 2009 you can't possibly believe that people will give away free direct downloads. This is the era of p2p, and torrents in particular, since Emuleis useful only to discover the new kinds of porn and viruses available. Using torrents is free, easy, and often can give you the episode you are looking for in 2 or 3 hours. I've yet to find something better.

One torrent I had - ~30 GB took me a full month.   Fukken AT&T's substations being too fucking far away from my residences.  =_=

2-3 hours? a regular download only takes about ten minutes.

No, I don't. I have a 20 MB/s connection (which, by the way, here in Italy means more or less 1.5 MB/s). However, if you know where to search (and THAT is the main point) you can still find amazing dl speeds. Casting aside rare gems like megaupload/megarotic direct links which, although the best solution, are obviously way too difficult to find (and often will be dead links), it is quite easy to reach for some torrents with enough peers to download the episode you are looking for in a matter of hours. The longest I've ever waited for an episode to finish its download was Otenki Oneesan, but I easily avoided the wait by searching the interesting scenes with Media Player Classic, which lets you view even files not yet completed. When the dl speed suddenly stabilized itself at an abismal 2 Kb/s and ~90% of the video, I just cancelled the torrent and let the episode stay as it was, since I already had the full portion I needed.
Trust me, go for torrents, learn by heart the best niches where you can find seeded releases, and you will be ready to enjoy ina  matter of hours every episode that suddenly pops up in this thread.

Your torrents are probably slow because you don't have the right ports open on your firewall/router, or you are trying to downloat torrents with very few seeds. With as fer as 5 peers, I can get download speeds of 500kb/s+ on a 5 mb/s connection. I rarely download anymore, but when I do, I torrent. I recently downloaded a 12 gig file in just under 3 hours, so torrenting isn't so slow if you know how to use it.

Additionally- if you want something reliable, fast, and virus free, buy it. It's literally the only way to guarentee that it will be exactly what you want, and nothing else, and you will get it promptly.

My brain cannot comprehend such a complex, riskful procedure. All's i wants is a gotdang link that leads to a zip file on my computer box cuz its faster n easier...

The main problem with direct links is just one: for every file you put on Megaupload, Rapidshare, Sendspace and so on, there's at leeast one people in the world whose only hobby is searching for this video and e-mail the owners of the hosting site in order tohave the file removed, just for fun.
Even when wurmknight.browsehentai was still running perfectly, many of the links would die in the blink of an eye (unvoluntary rhime FTW) justbecause manyratswerespending their free time reporting all of them.

Torrents, instead, will NEVER be deleted, becausethe only way of killing a torrent for good is leaving it unseeded. Even in thatcase, the torrent link will still be up for years.
The direct links can, and that's why they are so great, use all the speed your connection can give, while torrents need seedboxes or high numbers of peers or a few outstanding seeders, in order to achieve the same results; however, all the time a torrent could be up and running at a medium speed easily outmatches the short-lived dls.

If you are behind a router or wireless router and you post the model number I can give you instructions on how to forward the appropriate port.  It's really not that hard.

I've been excited every day this week when I noticed that this thread updated (new material hardly ever gets reported any more) and every day its just people going on about download protocol.
Surely there is a more relevant section of the forum to discuss this crap, rather than cluttering up this list thread.
