Just screwing around
« on: December 20, 2012, 03:13:10 AM »
Screwing around, when you're not playing a game to win but just to amuse yourself or look for secrets. I'm sure everybody does it sometimes.

I made some PAR codes for Secret of Mana to change the Hero's sprite into the girl's, then put the savestate in a hex editor to make a name longer than 6 letters. I named him Princess. I plan on doing a playthrough with him like that. xD

I already have a name i like to give to the sprite, but i wonder what i should name the girl now that i have up to 12 letters, including punctuation and numbers. Bladder-Chan? :3

What, no Suki and Mei? xP  Can you imagine how fucked up that'd be? Suki as the hero, Mei as the girl, and Momo as the sprite?

I actually tried to edit the dialogue in FFIII US (you know, FFVI) with that hacking tool; I had like Terra and Celes constantly complain about needing to pee but for some reason it didn't want to work for me. Dog gone...  :death:

Well... we're fucked...

I think i might have used that hacking tool before. I was going to make some super weapons but the damn thing wouldn't save the changes i made. Maybe my ROM was the wrong version or something.

Back to the Mana, i found out why there's a 6 letter limit when there is room in the data for 12 letter names. The words in the text box get pushed out if the character name is too long.

So i finished my weird name/crossdressing playthrough. Nothing too strange happened, but let me tell you it gets DAMN confusing when all 3 of your characters look the same.

I'd love to make a ROM hack if i were any good at it. The hero would become a cute, sissy trap obsessed with girl's clothing, makeup, and jewelry. All the girl's dialog would revolve around her looking for the bathroom key because Dyluck has is and she has to pee really bad throughout the whole game. I'd make the sprite's dialog make him look like a Beavis&Butthead style fuckass and have him go around causing trouble. xD

My collection of treasure chest sprites. I was thinking of having a game of "guess which game this chest comes from" but honestly i don't think anyone would be interested. Just look at how many chests Chrono Trigger has though, it's amazing. xD

It's understandable, though, Serika... when you factor in the multiple time periods and multiple dungeons from different builders. xD

Still, that's a pretty awesome thing you got there. Think you might try to make your own RPG with a bunch of treasure chests that release strange smoke and getting... sleeeeeeepy.... *passes out and hopes to go to Chocobo World*

Nah, that eats up way too much of my time. I made something with RPG Maker on PS1 when it was first released, and for the next year i was cooped up in my room all day long doing nothing but stitching maps together and trying to write dialog for an entire story, NPCs and all. All i could make, in the end, was a ridiculously retarded porno RPG with less than 10 major events.

I could probably make a pretty funny comedy RPG these days but i never want to touch that game again.

Win! I've just hacked Setzer's Slot Digits in the SNES version of Final Fantasy 6. You can get a Joker Doom whenever you want and beat invincible bosses like the Guardian! These PAR codes work on ZSNES and freeze the slots where you want them. You can get any combination at will with these.

The first 3 codes hold the slot at a specific point, allowing you to choose what you want, but you won't be able to confirm the selection without the last 3 codes.

The last 3 codes stop the slots right where they are. Since they all start on 7, you can just use these and ignore the first codes to get an automatic Joker Doom. If you want something else, like a 7-7-BAR Joker Doom, that's when you need to use the slot mod codes to change the slots away from 7.

7E7B8C??         Setzer's Slot 1 Mod
7E7B8D??         Setzer's Slot 2 Mod
7E7B8E??         Setzer's Slot 3 Mod

7E7B8F01         Stop Setzer's First Slot
7E7B9001         Stop Setzer's Second Slot
7E7B9101         Stop Setzer's Third Slot

Setzer's Slot Mod Digits

Why... THE HELL... would you want 7-7-BAR?  Doesn't that instantly kill YOU as well as the enemy? O_O;

WHY WOULD YOU HACK SOMETHING LIKE THAT?!

I just wanted to see it. I've never had a 7-7-BAR before.

It kills your entire party, but not the enemy. The safety bit won't protect you either. Life3 will save you from a game over at least.

I just made a code for Paperboy 2 that allows rapid fire. Normally you can only throw one paper every second, but this code sets the timer that starts after throwing something at 0, meaning you can throw as fast as you can push the button. Using the rapid fire buttons in ZSNES i can unleash a SWARM of papers that causes the game to lag!

7E0DC000 - Rapid Fire

If you're going to try this you'll also need a code for infinite papers or else you'll burn up all your ammo in a second.

7E0DB00A - Infinite Papers

Times like this i wish i could record gameplay and upload it to youtube. These screenshots really don't do it justice. xD

Hells yeah, machine gun newspapers! :D

In other news, i've made PAR codes for Zelda Link to the Past that allow you to kill chickens. It was pretty easy, all i had to do was set the enemy HP to 0 for all 16 possible enemy slots. Chickens normally have infinite life, but if they get hit when their HP is at 0 they explode anyway. This works on most bosses too, but sadly it doesn't work on thieves because your attacks just bounce off of them.

7E0E5000 1 Hit Kills
7E0E5100 1 Hit Kills
7E0E5200 1 Hit Kills
7E0E5300 1 Hit Kills
7E0E5400 1 Hit Kills
7E0E5500 1 Hit Kills
7E0E5600 1 Hit Kills
7E0E5700 1 Hit Kills
7E0E5800 1 Hit Kills
7E0E5900 1 Hit Kills
7E0E5A00 1 Hit Kills
7E0E5B00 1 Hit Kills
7E0E5C00 1 Hit Kills
7E0E5D00 1 Hit Kills
7E0E5E00 1 Hit Kills
7E0E5F00 1 Hit Kills

On the same note, i think i'll repost my Zelda 1 codes here since they basically do the same thing.

Quote from: Serika
Oh man, i just made some more VirtuaNES codes for the Legend of Zelda. You know that old man who appears in the labyrinth and shoots fire at you if you stab him? He is supposed to be invincible, but i just made a code that allows you to kill him. This code takes everything that is normally invulnerable and allows you to hit it.

You can stab merchants, the door repair guy, meat hungry moblins, fires, ghosts that appear from touching tombstones, that boss you're supposed to use the whistle on, fairies, those flying things that never land, boulders, princess Zelda, and even dropped items! This is one of the funniest damn codes i've ever made.

A fire takes 15 hits to kill, so i have also made codes to set enemy HP to 0, allowing you to OHKO them. Old men and merchants still only take 1 hit to defeat even if you don't use it.

0486-04-00000000   1 Hit Kills, Even With Boomerang
048A-04-00000000   1 Hit Kills, Even With Boomerang
048E-03-000000   1 Hit Kills, Even With Boomerang

04C0-04-00000000   Kill People, Fires, Ghosts, Ect
04C4-04-00000000   Kill People, Fires, Ghosts, Ect
04C8-03-000000   Kill People, Fires, Ghosts, Ect
